[ Dagger should be easier to read like this; the suit, with its synapse relay system, translates his moods to facial expressions - just as the human body would on its own. He visibly wrinkles his nose at his reply to Steve, displeasure clear as day. ]
So I've never done a date thing before. What are we doing?
Well - dinner's usually a safe bet, but I guess that's not exactly your sort of thing. [ A hand raises from his pocket to rub at his brow, then raises an eyebrow. ] How specific can these VR rooms get?
Pretty specific, if you let it run itself. Or if you're the neurotic sort,
you can customize it down to the particle level, but I don't think you
wanna spend that much time with me around.
[ Dagger leads the way to a VR deck, at least. Let's get walking!
]
As long as Dagger's got some kind of influence on Bucky, he's going to need to try to figure Dagger out.
At the VR deck he'll be silently fiddling around with the controls for a little bit, until he manages an Earth setting for: WINTER, ALPS. Specifically a spot cliffside overlooking a mountainside railroad track, separated from them by a long ravine. ]
[ Would you look at that - icy weather. Dagger feels a little less
warm and irritable right away, and he appreciates the gesture. Most don't
like the cold weather unless they were already born to it; he's not going
to pretend to understand why. Heat is terrifying. ]
[ Steve is infinitely more resistant to the cold than he used to be, but he's not immune. His breath puffs out in white clouds. ]
An ocean and a continent away, but yeah. Climbed up here once on a mission. [ He looks over the edge, gripped by the familiar sensation to jump. ] This warm compared to where you're from?
[ He doesn't remember how cold Keluuvi gets. He's pretty happy not
knowing, these days. Dagger sits on the powdery snow, legs folded under him
as he rests his chin on his hand. ]

Not really. What's up?

Think I owe you a date.
[ This is not a drill. Probably. ]

This isn't a euphemism thing, right.

I try to avoid those.

Alright. Where to? Should I be armed?
no subject
Can go bang on the drums, otherwise it's up to you.
I don't think so.[ but aren't you always armed? ]
no subject
Why are we banging drums? Is this a music thing?
[ He was trying to be nice. . . ]

FROM: rogers.steve@cdc.org
It's more of a 'you know this ship better than me' thing. And also you suggested drums last time.
Don't have any complaints to file today, if you're worried about that.
action?
The idea crossed my mind, yes. So this is completely friendly and I shouldn't expect murder happening. Cool.
Where are you?
noooOKIE dokie
Common quarters porting station.
[ Where he'll be waiting, leaning against a wall. ]
Re: noooOKIE dokie

I'm there.
[ Oh look he's even wearing his human facething; when he sees Steve and waves at the man, his facial expression is fairly constipated. ]

Hi. [ Dagger gets a once-over as he approaches in his meatsuit. Frowns a bit. ] How's the suit feel?
[ You can't actually be constipated, can you? ]

Why?
no subject
I've got a place in mind.
[ It was very cold.
He eyes Dagger, cocking an eyebrow. ] Haven't you been with your crew for centuries? Can't be all that bad to hang around with.
no subject
Funny, all those years just taught me all the ways people don't like other people.
You're all exhausting.

There isn't anything for me to lose.
[ And in part, he doesn't understand people like Steve. Dagger doesn't think he ever will, but the novelty will never wer off. ]
You're not the type to ask someone out just because.

It's cool enough.

So what's your problem?
no subject
This is where I thought he died.
[ Stated like a fact, because it is. He wants nothing from Dagger today, expects nothing to come of showing him this. He just wanted to. ]
no subject
Well, now you know he didn't.
[ He would be consoling, if he understood the depth of singular losses. He doesn't, not always. ]
I'm not trying to break him, if that's what this is about.
